Opening the case of fixtures was disappointing when observing how fragile they are. When taking the first one out of the sleeve they are packed in the end cap came off and all the guts started pulling out of the fixture. Did get it fixed and carefully handled the rest.My original fluorescent fixtures are all chain hung about 3 feet off the trusses This fixture comes with 3 brackets that would mount to a surface and then the fixture just snaps into the brackets. On a finished ceiling or even rafters this would be great. Hanging them from chain would require a jury rigged system which I was prepared to do and take a lot of work and patience which I don’t have a lot of.With a chair, cup of coffee, and a short time out. I decided I could take the old florescent and completely gut it, wire ballast and sockets, put the covers back on. Leaving the chain and cords on, all I had to do was mount the brackets to old fluorescent covers and snap light in place. Using the pig tails sent with the Fixture to wire into existing cords. This gave a nice rigid installation. Hanging from chains independently would probably not be good because fixtures are flimsy.The LED’s are very bright. I was surprised there is so much heat on the back. The brackets do allow air space behind fixture but would be cautious mounting against high combustible material for long periods.For the longevity I have had them for two months running 8 hrs a day and no problems yet.For the price of the fixture it was affordable to change out 25 of them. I am very glad I did it and have given five stars to everything and not knowing the longevity yet I am assuming it to be good. Plus the electricity it will save.Well this is my review and I am sticking to it
